Great Ocean Road Running Festival
My contributions: Copywriting and design of application style chosen by the client
I designed the brand application style and wrote ad copy for Great Ocean Road Running Festival, a massive running festival near Melbourne, Australia. The brand identity is inspired by the beautiful landscape that the festival calls home. The colors are derived from the lush, rugged countryside, the blue ocean, and ever-changing sky. The typography draws from rustic road and trail signage in the area. The background shapes are formed from ultra-close crops of the logo, designed by Craig Townsend. It depicts the famous road snaking along a cliff by the sea, with a sunrise in the distance.
Following our rebrand, Great Ocean Road Running Festival had a record-breaking number of registrations (over ten thousand), and raised $180,000 for charity.
